Please join us for an online Solstice Gathering!
We will join together in community to mark this moment, the longest night of the year, December 20th. Also celebrating the turning point when with each day the light returns again bit by bit!
December 20th from 4:00- 5:15p.
All are welcome to join, this is a really sweet event to share with your family.
Details of our gathering follow. After a short welcome, we will sit together as the light wanes and the sun sets, noticing all that we see and experience as we welcome the darkness in community. At a certain point when it becomes dark we will each light a candle and sit in the candle light, together taking in the light and one another. We will then have the chance to share our experience of sitting in the darkness. What supports you in the darkness, and what you can take away from the darkness.
If you have a poem, song or story that you would like to share, you can email Info@lotusartsfarmsanctuary.org with your share and we will send out your contributions to everyone who joins us. Share only if inspired. It is not a requirement!

If you’re able to join us, please make a cozy space for yourself (and your family) where you can look out a window to see the change before your very eyes. Have a candle and lighter close by to use during our gathering. You may also want to make a soothing cup of tea to enjoy during our gathering.
We look forward to marking the longest night of the year and welcoming in the returning light with you.
If you’re unable to join us we hope you can take some well deserved time during what our society has made an over busy time; to honor what mother nature has provided as a resting, inward drawn time of the year. Letting go of your lists and settling into the quiet darkness. I have found pausing during the transition from day to night between 4:15 to 4:45 on any given night during this season becomes such a restorative moment that may change your whole night. You may find yourself going to bed earlier, enjoying candle light. Sharing stories with your family or loved ones or just a sense of connection to something greater than ourselves.
We wish you a contemplative, peaceful Solstice, and look forward to you joining us if you’re able.
Now please enjoy reading Moon Memories, blog by Sylvana Weinstein, speaking of the light in the darkness!
